An acquisition made 18 months ago is the source of much of Stag Security system’s growth, though the business which provides security for a multitude of clients is also branching out into CCTV maintenance and contract cleaning as part of a more rounded service.
The business has two offices, in Harrogate and London, and employs around 600 employees including a large team of sales staff.
Having been founded in 2002, the business has already established annual sales of just under £13m and chief executive Graham Watson is confident of more. “We haven’t been listening to the media who are far too down on this country,” he says. “The main reason for our success to date has been building a strong sales team and focusing on what we’re good at. We’ve diversified carefully and we get ahead by combining value for money with better services.”
Sales director Gavin Hughes expects a steep growth curve is the near future too: “We can see the rate of growth increasing over the next 12 months and what we’re doing right now will grow with us for at least two years.”
