With only a week left to enter the Growing Business Awards 2012, we are getting excitingly close to finding the UK's future champions. Nominations have been flooding in, the judges are ready to roll, McLaren Technologies are preparing the scene for the winners' high-performance day, and we at Real Business have our fingers glued to the keyboard, ready to tell you all about Britain's hottest high-growth companies.
One category we can't wait to unveil the shortlist for is the “Made in Britain” award, celebrating groundbreaking products and technologies developed in Britain.
World-beating products are developed by innovative minds regularly. Using UK assets and skill to the maximum can bring technical excellence to a product, but it also helps to stabilise the economy.
What's clear is that we have talent en masse to show for, and we want to unveil the exceptional businesses that boost Britain's economy by developing developing technically excellent, innovative, world-beating products and technologies.

Nominations are now open for the 2012 Growing Business Awards, in association with Lloyds Bank. We're looking for entries from "future champion" businesses and individuals across ten categories. Created by Real Business and the CBI, the Growing Business Awards are the most established recognition of UK entrepreneurial achievement. The awards are also supported by Land Rover, the Financial Mail, Spring Law, Cass Business School, Your Business Your Future, Business Voice, Professional Engineering, and bdaily. As well as huge prestige and coverage, a group of successful candidates will also be invited to an exclusive "high-performance day" at McLaren Racing, as well as joining a delegation at the 2012 CBI Annual Conference. Nominations close on September 21.
