The Future 50's second spin-out from the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, and third nanotech firm, is Cella Energy. It creates nanostructures to store hydrogen. The result is a liquid which has more energy than petrol or lithium ion batteries and can be poured and handled like petrol, making hydrogen-fuelled cars more viable and much, much safer.
