Five things that will change your business (and you)
Look, I know everyone reading this article on Real Business is already a business millionaire, but for those few that are not, read these five pieces of advice.
* Sales first. You can worry about business processes once you’ve got cash coming in
* Informal doesn’t mean ineffective. Cut through the bullshit.
* Not enough hours in the day? Absolute rubbish. Don’t believe me? Keep a diary and jot in it every 15 minutes what you’ve done.
* If you’ve got something better to do, go and do it. Apply this constantly in business.
* Be yourself. Clients should buy your services because of YOU, not because it’s the cheapest quote.
* You really don’t need proposals to do business. Don’t hide behind documents. Business is about people. Get the people right first and don’t expect Powerpoint to do it for you.
Business is not all about money and profit. It’s about making a difference, before you make a profit.
You might be making a difference to your own self confidence, helping your clients or helping your employees. When times are tough and sales are down, you can still know that you’re making a difference. Sales will come back. You will get to that magical six zeros.
Your business succeeds or fails on what happens upstairs (taps side of head).
Before you dismiss this blog, read it again. It only took one minute the first time.
