Brother attacks mono-laser market with new "best in class" network-ready wireless range.

Office technology specialist Brother is throwing down the gauntlet to its competitors with the launch of three new entry level mono laser printers targeted at the Home/ COHO and SOHO markets.

The machines in the company’s new HL-2100 series feature class-leading speeds in a highly compact package that’s ideal for smaller offices where space is at a premium.

In addition to 22ppm speeds, the HL-2100 series machines also have first print out times of under 10 seconds and are priced from as little as £76.59 (ex VAT).

Wireless is available on the top-end model in the range, the HL-2170W, for £127.65 (ex VAT), making this the best value wireless mono laser printer in its class.

With its pricing strategy, Brother is offering end users an attractive package at far better value than competitor products. The upgrade from its entry level HL-2140 to the network ready HL-2150N costs end-users just over £25.

The unique design of the new models is based on sleek, ergonomic curves rather than a traditional box shape and the visual appeal is enhanced by the machines’ compact size. This is thanks to the self-contained universal 250 sheet paper tray, which greatly reduces the virtual footprint of each machine.

Each model also features a straight paper path feed which provides greater flexibility on the type of media being printed such as envelopes, labels and card.

The new range summary:

HL-2140 – entry level, 8mb standard memory, SRP £76.59 (ex VAT)
HL-2150N – network ready, 16mb standard memory, SRP £102.12 (ex VAT)
HL-2170W – wireless, 32mb standard memory, SRP £127.65 (ex VAT)
