The self-described “global leader in ecommerce delivery” Metapack offers a delivery management channel for retailers and distribution firms to ensure a comprehensive variety of options that best suit the needs of the customers.

The company has been backed by Index Ventures – supporter of Betfair, Bla Bla Car, Facebook, Just Eat – and former Tesco CEO Terry Leahy. In 15 years, the business has grown to 350 employees across the UK, US, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland and Hong Kong, and the CAGR is now at 64.54 per cent.

Other juicy figures to have helped the company’s latest turnover top £15 million include delivery of 400 million parcels from over 200 countries and 500 million consumers reached.

As if that wasn’t enough, the firm works with more than 600 retailers including household names such as ASOS, Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, JD Sports, Ted Baker, River Island and Thorntons.

Metapack bolstered its executive team in June 2015 with the arrival of David Jack as group chief information officer, responsible for software engineering. He secured the post, boasting experience from startups and technology-based retail companies.

“David is a commercially focused, passionate and technology-obsessed CIO with a proven track record of change and he will be instrumental in devising and directing our development,” said Patrick Wall, Metapack CEO.

“In his varied career, David has continually demonstrated his ability to evangelise new technical innovation and drive business growth whilst developing strong creative teams. We are delighted to welcome him to MetaPack where he will be a critical part of our global management team.”

Jack added: “MetaPack is a dynamic, fast-growth company and is already a leading provider of delivery management solutions to some of Europe’s best-known retailers and their partners.

“I am excited to be joining an established and talented team with ambitious plans to take the company to even higher levels where its best-in-class solutions make the difference between an ordinary and an exceptional customer delivery experience.”
