The overhaul continues
My amazing HR lady continues her investigations and discussions with staff, as we begin to implement her recommendations. I am fascinated by her report (when I can stand back from it dispassionately, which isn’t always the case!) in so, so many ways.
In addition to routing out bad employees, she's also looking at the business structure, which has been skewed yet again and needs re-doing. Amazing what a difference this makes. As I do the accounts, I can see that more involvement by the right people has lowered spending dramatically – or perhaps we have just finally got through to them! Whatever the reason, a fairly low turnover in February (prior to sales going crazy) has done us little harm, with tight spending controls now in place.
My day is partly spent whizzing over necessary paperwork and giving the HR lady background info on the people she is seeing in her weekly visit tomorrow. Won't be pleasant for her as includes a couple of disciplinary sessions and monitoring the people we have question marks over. After that, she'll be putting her coaching hat on for the senior staff.
