What a turn around
So glad it is Friday – it's been a long week with our new structure being put into place.
Inevitably, we haven't done half as much done as I'd hoped and pressure is on to catch up with big project work. Trying to have all our health and safety overhauled and all our suppliers checked for competitiveness and quality by Easter, as have loads of other projects for the company after that – but it is asking a lot.
All of a sudden we feel short staffed, which is an incredible turn around.
So a weekend of rest (how typical that the sun will be hiding behind clouds) followed by a week of recruiting is on the agenda. Read yesterday that a quarter of the workforce is now unemployed – but many are so demoralised that they don’t apply for anything, which is a tragedy.
Certainly starting to get a high volume of CVs through for various roles though – and the ads have only just gone out. Am hopeful that we can still add two or three really strong members to our team over the coming week or so. Some change from the lay-off situation only a month ago!
