"Enterprise is dead"

Excellent discussion about banks and business on the Today programme this morning.

In case you missed it, the Today programme carried a great pre-8am discussion between banking analyst (and business owner) Ralph Silva and maverick Tory MP John Redwood. Silva has some pretty straight-talking views about the level of entrepreneurship in Britain today.

I'd also recommend Tracy Corrigan's column in the Telegraph today on the schizophrenia of Business Secretary Vince Cable's position on the banks - lend more and more; otherwise we'll block your bonuses.

But surely that was what got us in the schtuck in the first place.... More wise investment decisions from bankers who know their client businesses, that would be a good start.
