Making our behaviour viral
Scale brings new challenges to any business. It’s all about spreading the right attitude through the ranks.
It’s been a busy few months for myself and the team at Struq. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining – busy is good. We took on five staff last month and have another six joining us in August.
More than ever, I’m reminded of the importance of finding the right people. Things were tough starting and growing a company in a recession without any funding, but the truth is that we survived – and grew – because we were a team of committed, efficient people who got things done.
So now, I look at the key qualities that got us to where we are today – dependability, excellence, honesty, integrity, positivity, proactiviness and efficiency – and I know that it’s vital that I find people with the same attitudes and behaviour.
As much as it’s up to me to recruit the right sort of people, it’s also the responsibility of the current team to continue to spread the right attitudes through the ranks. It’s up to them to make our behaviour viral.
