13 new enterprise zones revealed

More enterprise zones have been announced by the government across England. Ministers hope that the new enterprise zones will create up to 30,000 jobs by 2015.

Local groups had to submit bids for the government to assess before the decisions were made. The idea behind the wide location of the sites is to try and spread the benefits of enterprise zones across the country.

Announcing the sites, Prime Minister David Cameron, says the enterprise zones will be “trailblazers” for growth, jobs and prosperity:

“Enterprise zones are a major step towards delivering this cutting business taxes, easing planning restrictions and giving business the tools they need to invest and expand. We’re determined to do everythign we can to make Britain the best place in the world to start and grow a business.”
