Vote on a TV text-in show and chances are you’re using MX Telecom to do so. The company provides the technical connections for mobile data, giving people with mobile phones access to content providers such as TV channels, online music stores and video upload websites. Its growth is down to its ability to adapt to emerging technologies and provide its clients with commercial opportunities almost immediately, says co-founder Mark Fitzgerald.
With turnover reaching the £45m mark, MX Telecom is no minnow. It’s also reaching out to new customers in the States, a rare thing for British tech firms. “In this industry, if you’re not running then you’re effectively going backwards,” says Fitzgerald. “We are technically superior and innovative, so we’re always first to market. Our clients know they’ll never get left behind.”
