The Real Return Group does exactly what it says on the tin: undertake fundamental research-based global investment with a real return philosophy. Its major operating subsidiary, London and Zurich-based Veritas Asset management, operates segregated mandates for private clients, trusts and charities, and manages a number of funds for retail and institutional investors. Specialising in global and Asian long-only and long/short equities and multi-asset strategies, Veritas Asset management has seen its fund under management pass the £1bn mark in the past year, and was recently awardedPrivate Asset Management’s Investment Performance award for its high-equity strategy. Turnover at The Real Return Group has jumped from just £776,500 in 2005 to £12.997m in 2008, with a pre-tax profit of £1.453m.
