Telling the truth about SME life today

79: Enteraction TV

“We’re a digital TV content business, set up to thrive on the chaos that new technologies have caused,” says Enteraction founder Mark Cullen. He describes it as a non-traditional TV production company, which makes shows for Sky, Freeview, the web, IPTV and mobile phone operators. “We run a channel on Sky for Thomas Cook and a daily music show for mobile network 3.”

When the business launched in 2000, the technology was in its infancy ¬– and Enteraction has floated upon its rising popularity. “We’re making TV to fit on a two-by-two inch screen with a ‘dwell time’ of around two minutes. We don’t make feature films; that’s a pretty unpleasant viewing experience on a phone.”

The company has hit sales of £16.4m by being nimble and adapting to new technology as it emerges. “It’s a fast-moving business,” adds Cullen, “and we have to reinvent ourselves constantly.”
