LinkedIn has released a report that shows that of the 81 per cent of SMEs using social media regularly, a huge 94 per cent use it for marketing purposes.
Of those companies, 91 per cent say that a social media presence helps them to increase brand awareness and 82 per cent say the platform has helped them draw leads. The data is important to LinkedIn, which has millions of SME entrepreneur members. “We know that for SMEs the greatest challenge is attracting and retaining customers,” says Lana Khavinson, a senior product manager at LinkedIn, who is responsible for the company’s SME initiatives. “Here is a really clear indicator of the value that social media is providing to companies that are rapidly growing.” LinkedIn partnered with market research firm TNS for the study, which gathered information from 998 SMEs.
