Quantix became private in 2007 after a management buyout backed by ISIS private equity and Invex Capital. The company, originally part of Lynx Group, was founded in 2002 offering B2B IT services. It specialises in the implementation and remote management of business software, maintaining networks and training.
“Our business is mature, so our customers trust that we have longevity and can fulfil managed service contracts over a long period of time,” says MD Dick Salmon. He reckons the company’s success is partly due to its focus; keeping track of new technologies without getting distracted by them is critical in building relationships with clients.
Another factor is loyal and dedicated staff. The company runs a share option scheme for its most treasured employees and tries to keep staff turnover under ten per cent a year. But the proof is in the pudding: not only has Quantix seen a compound growth of 57 per cent for the past four years but its profit has increased too – from £1.5m in 2004 to today’s £5.9m.
