Nicola Granger, financial secretary, Falkland Islands Government
Nicola became financial secretary of the Falkland Islands Government in 2012, providing fiscal and financial advice to all levels of management.
“The stability of the Falklands’ fiscal regime and financial security are in large part the result of her advice and guidance,” says CEO Keith Padgett. “She was also instrumental in forming South Atlantic Accounts Association and is now its Vice-Chair.”
Nicola successfully concluded negotiations with oil companies that began operations in and around the Falkland Islands. She also developed a new approach to the formulation of budget strategy and implemented new investment guidelines for the management of the Government’s reserve.
Andrew Green, FD, Survivex
Founded in 2011, Survivex delivers survival and industrial skills training. Andrew has been there since the beginning and during the start-up phase managed company cash flow, provided daily updates to key personnel and tracked spend versus budget.
Today, he holds board level responsibility for finance, IT and HR.
Since then his achievements include leading a project to buyout Scottish Enterprise Fund and completing the deal within three months, setting up a Dubai branch office and leading a project to develop ERP business systems that would streamline business processes.
Andrew Langford, UK FD, Global Payments
Upon joining the company “at a critical time” in July 2011, Andrew embarked on overhauling and re-launching sales commission schemes for all 120 of the sales staff.
“We had been acquired by our American parent, so and a complex program of change was already underway,” explains MD Chris Davies. “Andrew took ownership and responsibility to ensure that we continued to reconcile and settle with our customers during the systems conversion.”
