We’re always on the lookout for entrepreneurs doing new and great things. This week, the internet was abuzz with rumours of the world’s most expensive car wash. Meet Derby-based entrepreneur Gurcharn Sahota.
30-year-old Gurcharn Sahota uses microscopes and ultrasonic depth gauges to charge more than £7,000 for a ultra-prestigious car cleaning service. “Sometimes if one of my customers calls up from the Middle East, they’ll fly me out there in business class. All my kit will come with me and I can spend anything from a couple days out there to several weeks,” he told the BBC. A full treatment, which can take up to four weeks, sets customers back some £7,000. For this, he uses around 100 cleaning fluids and Brazilian carnauba wax which costs £8,200 per tub. “Part of the process we take is to analyze all of the paint work. If there are any chips, we’ll get in really deep to see how bad the rust is. I’ll then sand it down and build the paintwork back up, bringing it all to factory-level again.” Gurcharn Sahota’s super-car wash has led him to work on Bugatti Veyrons, McLaren F1s, F1 GTRs and Pagani Zondas. “If you give me a new car, I can make it look better. If one of my customers wants to respray a million pound car, it could cost them up to £100,000. Give it to me for a couple of weeks – I’ll charge a fraction of the price and it will look even better.” Anyone’s car need a clean, then? No? I thought not. Why not watch Gurcharn Sahota in action, first:
