Why do you suddenly want to bring your office up to date – do you need to change your image? Are your employees unhappy? Or do you just feel it is time for a change?
Your opinion is not particularly important. The people who matter are your employees and (if they come to your building) your customers.
As soon as you modernise your office, you will change the character of your business and, if you move to another building, some colleagues may leave – a lot of people don’t like change.
If you see this as the catalyst to bring your business up to date, it is probably best to move elsewhere but if history is important, stay put and keep the feeling of tradition.
Don’t just go for the cheaper option. Creating the right culture is more important than keeping down costs.
