Not much of a recession was it? In fact, it’s unlikely to last longer than this column.

Too many people have been citing the recession as the reason for their company’s failure. Take it from me, in the years past, well before the recent downturn, I had my own personal recession of low/no sales and near bankruptcy, well before the R word was ever mentioned.

But I took responsibility and adapted, adapted and adapted into success.

And don’t blow my head off for considering we are through the worst – I know what happens when someone mentions "green shoots" of recovery. The way this recession was being painted in some corners conjured images of cars being overturned and martial law hitting the streets. A complete collapse of western society as we know it.
