The techies’ favourite website, Techcrunch, has two sources on a massive breaking story that search engine giant Google is about to acquire chatterbox forum Twitter for a $250m sum. It’s the sort of deal that could reignite confidence in the technology sector. And, as Techcrunch said recently, it makes great sense for Google: "More and more people are starting to use Twitter to talk about brands in real time as they interact with them. And those brands want to know all about it".
