Together with brands including King of Shaves, Ella’s Kitchen, Photobox, A Suit That Fits.com and Chemist Direct, Calver has launched The Consumer Forum. Developed by Reading Room, the website allows British retailers to share their experiences of great customer service. “Excellent customer relationships bring considerable value to businesses and the wider UK economy. It is, in fact, those companies who are fulfilling unique customer needs and using innovative customer relations who are surviving best in the current recession,” comments Calver. “It staggers me when businesses are seen as the enemy of the customer, not as a vehicle to help solve or improve their problems. “It’s not always easy to satisfy the customer and we don’t always get it right but I feel it is a goal worth pursuing. That is why we created the Consumer Forum, to promote and celebrate excellence in customer focus and the benefits of trying to build your business around what the customer wants. Each of the founding companies were created to find a unique solution to existing consumer problems, from taking the stress out of movie rentals or helping youngsters to get excited by healthy food, to sharing, storing and printing your photo library, bringing affordability and convenience to hand-made tailoring, and a high-quality, low-cost alternative to the high street pharmacy.” The Consumer Forum is looking for likeminded brands to join.
