CGT is the issue du jour. I was in Westminster this morning having a coffee with Mark Prisk, the Conservatives’ Shadow Minister for Enterprise, just before Alistair Darling made his announcement. Here is his statement. "Today the Government finally announced minor changes to Capital Gains Tax but growing and high tech businesses will continue to lose out. Shadow Minister for Enterprise, Mark Prisk MP said: “After 15 weeks of dithering and delay, only the smallest firms will be spared. Entrepreneurs will still lose £700m while larger, growing firms have been completely ignored. “The Chancellor is sending a negative message to ambitious entrepreneurs and their investors. They will now wonder what place they have in Brown’s Britain.”Agree?
