GENERATION Z: New video CV app launches for UKs digital natives

A new video CV platform has launched transforming the job application process for the nations young job seekers.

The app, Slync is targeted at the younger Millenial and Gen Z graduates who are newly entering the workforce. It works by allowing the fresh job seekers to showcase their personality in a 35-second video CV that is seen by employers and recruiters.

The news comes at an uncertain time for those entering the jobs market. The ongoing coronavirus crisis has meant that many companies who would usually be on the hunt for people to fill entry-level roles now have to implement a hiring freeze.

However, as the workforce moves to a more digital space to accommodate social distancing laws, Slync allows for job seekers to put a personal and interactive spin on the traditional written CV.

The app was founded by young couple Faiza and Jami Saiful who found it hard to get noticed for their skills and personalities, as well as their exam results, after leaving university.

A 35-second video CV is all it takes for an employer to notice you,” said Jami. ?SlyncAllows digital natives to better manage their career opportunities and performance.

Aimed at the Snapchat generation,?Slync defies paper CVs and existing recruitment models and advocates video CVs as a platform to personally brand yourself in the UK jobs.

“There is a new wave of young talent and companies need to find new ways of interacting with them. Generation Z and younger Millennials are well-rounded learners by nature.

Their skills go beyond their CVs, especially growing up with endless digital access, their ways of thinking and doing things are completely different from that of other generations. she continues.

Students and graduates can join the social hiring app for free and create a video CV on their phone in under a minute that is viewable by employers, allowing them to get a more rounded profile of candidates.

Employers can also sign up to Slync for free and they so far include businesses from tech, media, HR, and publishing backgrounds.
