At the end of yesterday, my new sales staff came to me and said the job was not for her. Great shame. Was a ray of sunshine for someone to actually be honest for a change though. We were all able to wish her the very best and really mean it. No time to dwell, however, as it’s round one of staff assessments. Really nice to have a little one-on-one time with each of the employees. Second-in-Charge covers their general work while I sit down with them and have a chat. Next time, I’m going to invest in kettle for office so we can have tea and biccies. Amazed and pleased that they talk openly to me about what is going on, their views on life, work and the management. Overall, it’s a really encouraging day. It’s clear just how much staff attitude has shifted this year. They now accept that health and safety is actually for their benefit, not just us being difficult. Just as pleasing, the company values have become an accepted way of life.
