Deflation hits the UK

The RPI has moved from 0 per cent in February to 0.4 per cent in March.

Inflation as per the Consumer Prices Index is higher but still at record low levels – it dropped 2.9 per cent to 3.2 per cent.

However, the Times reports that core inflation (which excludes food and energy costs) increased from 1.6 per cent from 1.7 per cent.
