Key Capital Partners now has four locations across the UK – its other offices are in Cambridge, Leeds and Birmingham. Key Capital Partner’s new office on Gray’s Inn Road will provide the VC firm with access to the Thames Valley, Solent and Gatwick regions, as well as proximity to investors and the professional community in the City.
Founded in 2007 to address the “equity gap”, Key Capital Partners makes investments of between £1m and £10m in profitable, growing UK companies. Key Capital Partners has made seven investments since closing its maiden £100m fund, including a £5m equity investment in contemporary furniture and home accessories retailer Dwell in August 2010. Key Capital Partners marked its London launch by appointing Gareth Evans to the new office as investment manager. Gareth Evans joins from PricewaterhouseCoopers’ transaction services team and will be responsible for identifying new investment opportunities among the South East’s profitable, growing companies. Founding Key Capital Partners partner Mike Fell will oversee the firm’s London and Cambridge offices. “Although the private equity market is recovering and has resumed its role as a dominant source of M&A activity over the last 12 months, there remains a need to ensure that funds are managed responsibly and invested in quality businesses with sustainable funding structures. Our arrival in London highlights the growing demand for responsible, partner-led private equity investment in the mid-market,” says Mike Fell. Picture source
