Today, with new players entering the lending market, growing companies may face a different problem: which is their best option?Even more worrying, high-potential companies in high-growth sectors (such as technology and media) can struggle most with accessing finance. Often, they lack the track records and assets required for traditional bank loans. Conrad Ford’s Funding Options addresses this knowledge gap and, thus, connects growth firms (and advisers) with finance products and providers. By integrating Funding Options technology with accounting software, it can use actual trading performance to inform finance decisions. Despite the sound and fury of recent years, there are many finance options for the UK’s growth firms. The issue, say many seasoned SME observers, is matching the right firm with the right money. Funding Options has that information asymmetry in its sights. Volumes of qualified leads have been doubling each quarter through 2013, says Ford, and the newly-launched “Check Business” service is growing % double digits each week. At the end of 2013, Funding Options closed its first VC funding round, taking investment from AXM Venture Capital to support growth plans.
