Everline Future 50: Quill

We like that ambition, and it gets Quill into our Everline Future 50.

Founded by serial internet entrepreneur Ed Bussey (ex-Zyb and figleaves.com), Quill has produced content for 81 clients since launching in 2011. Revenue has grown at over 150% year on year and its writer network has quadrupled from 2013 to 2014, with the number of languages covered doubling in that time.

Now backed by Julie Meyers Ariadne Capital, Quill has ambitious plans for 2014, to double the size of the team and deploy in three new markets.

Quills aim is to help businesses drive revenue and reputation by reaching, acquiring and retaining their target audiences with tailored, web-optimised content. Its end-to-end content solution is, says Bussey, more efficient, cost-effective and scalable than in-house or traditional agency models .

Distinctively, the firm is blending automation (its multi-language Quill Platform) with in-house editors and a flexible, global network of specialists.

Bussey: Quill is a disruptor in this new content environment, as traditional publishers and content agencies fail to evolve their rigid, high cost models. Our vision is to create a 100m+ technology-enabled, next generation global publishing company.
