“Finish the year strong”

1 Mins

Doing some advance work on the end-of-month newsletter as going to be dashing all over place in next couple of weeks. Find myself reflecting on something business coach put in his newsletter a couple of weeks ago; that he urged all us acolytes to finish the year strong. Apparently, most businesses view this time of year as a slow down as they get ready for both Christmas and New Year.  Perhaps this affects the staff (or perhaps it’s the dark nights, cold patches, illnesses and all over ensuing jollities taking their toll on the staff).  Perhaps us being more involved in brochures, year ends etc, mean we take the eye off the ball and make an error trusting staff. Certainly this quarter last year was our disaster of the whole financial year, and two weeks into this year, if we are not careful, we will have a repeat. All the work we have done all year seems to have diminished – productivity is down as is quality. The only things that seem to be rising are moans, silly mistakes and fuel bills. Are other companies prone to the same malaise or is it just us, I wonder?
