Rush round doing staff newsletter and press release, and organising trip to pub for later in day – though somewhat hashed it by not remembering earlier, so among many on holiday is one of my two senior managers. Strange looking at old pics for newsletter and thinking of all that has gone on: it seems like exaggerated version of Eastenders with births, deaths and marriages, relationships, traumas and recessions. We started tiny with little aim to dizzying heights and have ended up growing beyond expectation, winning awards and sending goods worldwide. All very strange but despite things being somewhat grim in the world today – from recession to swine flu – it does prompt the thought that whatever happens, there will continue to be all those things, and while we might get the lows, no doubt we will get the highs as well.
