At last, things are looking up! Strike one: Having brought the problem of bad communication lines to my attention, juniors in the wood-sanding room are now reporting that their lives are transformed by this being sorted. Big smiles, better work, real involvement. A real victory! Strike two: One of the four new line managers is not just coping really, really well but is getting carried away and showing signs of something rare and dangerous like initiative. Problem-solving all on his own; another victory! Strike three: Today’s management meeting was very positive. Figures for February show a respectable mini profit. I’m still able to hold my head up high. Strike four: The girls beat the boys in the red nose day version of The Apprentice last night! Well done to Ultimo’s Michelle Mone not only for winning but for rising above Patsy Palmer! Strike five: One of my lovely cabinet makers (yes I have a couple) has brought in choccie biccies to cheer us up in the office. And it’s Friday… only a few hours until I hit the pub. Perhaps I can do this positive thinking lark this week, after all.
