The miracle substance of nanotechnology is graphene – a sheet of carbon one atom thick. It has stunning strength and amazing electrical and thermal properties. Hard to make, though. DGS is a spin-out from Durham University, specialising in the making of graphene. The founder, Dr Karl Coleman, won the RSC Chemistry World Entrepreneur of the Year award this year.
