Week off to flying start due to the incredible amount we got done last week. Both Second-in-Charge and I spent weekend ill but am forced to wonder if that’s down to exhaustion rather than piglet flu.
Am forced to recognise that cannot keep this pace up. Recruitment last week might have gone badly wrong given the percentage of applicants who either cancelled or didn’t show at all for their interviews (two, I note, have written over weekend to say they had failed to check their emails and could they have another interview time. No way!) but, as it happens, my favourites out of every position did turn up and were as good as I had hoped. One started this morning. Won job on attitude – can teach skills but cannot teach that! Equally exciting is that assembly is churning out sample pieces to test for next year’s designs following our massive brain-storming session last week. Seem to have hit another stage of really moving forward!
