The details
The UK is heaving and groaning with foreign currency providers. So how did World First grow from a start-up in 2004 to a £1.8bn transaction volume Nick Robinson, who co-founded the online FX firm with Jonathan Quin, says the secret is the personal touch:
“It may be a competitive market, but we felt that not enough focus was placed on the client experience when it came to foreign exchange. There is always someone available to help when clients call and they will always speak to one of the team within a maximum of three rings, because we don’t believe in making people talk to machines.
The formula has attracted both consumers and businesses looking to change currencies and hedge. Export is also helping. Robinson spent two years setting up an Australian office, now growing 60 per cent a year, and an office in the US will be opened in the near future.
