The details
Founded in 2007, 2M Holdings is the parent of a group of businesses including Banner Chemicals and Surfachem, which themselves own derivative businesses chiefly occupied in producing speciality chemicals and solvents for a broad range of sectors including pharmaceuticals, homecare and heavy industry.
While 2M itself is only four years old, the group’s businesses are longer in the tooth. Samuel Banner & Co, part of Banner Chemicals, was formed in 1860; while Surfachem, acquired by 2M five years ago in a deal financed by a cash-flow lending deal, is more than 30 years old.
Spurred on by this latest acquisition 2M’s turnover is nearing the £100m mark, up substantially from £36.7m four years ago, giving it a compound growth rate of 39 per cent a year. EBITA stood at £6.4m during the holding company’s most recent reporting period.
