It’s traditional to think of London as the sole centre of the UK’s financial industry. But rather inaccurate. We also have Edinburgh, which bristles with banks, hedge funds and brokers.
Ria is one of Edinburgh’s brightest stars. It offers advice and transactions to top banks, wealth managers and institutional investors. This includes in-depth reports on the UK economy, weekly reviews of the bond markets and research on stocks.
The firm has 20 shareholders, most of whom work for the firm. Turnover has reached £11m – admittedly still small for the finance industry. RIA clearly has ambitions though, it opened up a London branch in 2009, so it can now make a name for itself in both the UK’s financial powerbases.
