A slew of data centre acquisitions have swelled the turnover of data management company Onyx group and sent it spiralling up the Hot 100 in 2012. The business reported sales of just under £15m in 2010 and EBITDA has steadily increased to £1.6m during the same year.
The company also owns six recovery centres across the country which are available to organisations forced to relocate following a damaging act of God or computing failure.
In 2008 the business secured £2m in a funding round supported by North Star Equity Investments, while in October last year ISIS Partners bought a £27m stake in the business and supplied an extra £15m growth capital. Chief executive Neil Stephenson says the company plans further expansion into new geographical territories.
