In four years, Portgrade has spread its hotel laundry services from a niche in North Wales into UK-wide markets. The company has invested heavily in two new laundries which has given it the edge over more traditional operators in recent years.
The group works with a host of big name hotel chains and plans to expand further, notably into the lucrative London and South East markets. Portgrade has a turnover of £16m, just under £10m more than four years ago.
“With less than 10 per cent market share, we see strong growth opportunities from further geographical expansion into the London and South East hotel market place, which is the largest and fastest growing hotel market, as well as continued growth – especially from the rapidly growing budget hotel sector across the UK,” says CEO Mark Woolfenden.
