Established over 25 years ago, this provider of support services to the airline industry underwent an MBO in 2004, led by existing CEO Bryan Bodek.
Since then, growth has been consistent on two counts. “We have widened our goods and services offerings to airlines and gone more into export markets. Both strategies are proving fruitful,” says Bodek.
The company offers a range of services to airlines such as easyJet and Air France, from ramp operations such as deicing and interior and exterior cleaning, to seat repair and curtain design. It has recently expanded into component repair, servicing anything from toilet pumps to escape slides.
ASL has 600 staff operating out of 14 locations, including ten UK airports. Bodek anticipates that the company will grow “at least” another 20 per cent this year. “We have started off the year extremely strongly with strong order from both existing and new clients.”
Sales to October 2011 are £48.7m and profits £5.3m.
