William John Thatcher first started making cider on his family’s farm in 1904. The family has now been making cider for over 100 years.
In 1981 they took over the running of Cheddar Valley cider. That same year, they sold their last pigs to concentrate all their time on the Thatchers brand.
In 2013 they were named Manufacturer of the Year at Insider’s Made in the South West Awards. And this year they won the Taste of the West awards.
