Sales team is incredibly busy. The number of enquiries coming in and quotes being done is at all time high. Everyone upbeat and all the boys are having a laugh, which is great to see.
Due to slow start to rest of year, however, rest of place is like a morgue with half shop-floor laid off. Morale very low and no amount of internal PR can change the fact that current orders on the books are low.
Wish I could be bothered to muster more of a "Winston-Churchill-on-the-beaches" type role but combination of son’s departure and other problems has left me so flattened I can hardly care at all.
Know I probably need a long holiday – if not a sabbatical – and only the incredible state of the sales office is making me hesitate to just shut up shop and go. Still might. It’s hard to care about staff who don’t seem to give a damn about you.
