SMEs in the South East of England are being invited to apply for Innovation Vouchers.
Innovation Vouchers are designed to encourange and make it easeir for businesses to develop technology, start research, or access equipment, expertise and technical consultancy from UK universities and public research bodies.
Available through the South East Health Technology Alliance (SEHTA), up to 55 Innovation Vouchers worth £4,000 and £8,000 are being funded by the South East England Development Agency as part of a wider initiative to support high growth companies in the South East.
Applications for the Innovation Vouchers are invited from any high-growth potential SME, social enterprise or not-for-profit organisation based in the South East of England.
Although most business sectors are eligible for the Innovation Vouchers, priority will be given to organisations in:
- advanced engineering and marine
- aerospace and defence
- environment and energy
- financial and professional services
The two Innovation Vouchers available are:
- A fully-funded Innovation Voucher, worth £4,000 excluding VAT.
- The second Innovation Voucher is for £8,000, which companies are required to match with £4,000 in cash (to create a project of £12,000).

The Innovation Voucher scheme opened on February 1, and interested companies are invited to apply by March 9, 2011. Successful applications will be notified by March 31, 2011.
