Billionaire entrepreneur John Caudwell, who sold his remaining stake in Phones 4U for £175m in March this year, is considering setting up a new venture capital fund.
John Caudwell sold customer billing service Singlepoint to Vodafone for £405m, followed three years later by the sale of Caudwell Group to Providence Equity Partners in 2006, which made him £1.24bn. His personal wealth is estimated at around £1.5bn.
Not much is known about the new fund, but it’s believed that it will be kept separate from the angel investments John Caudwell has made in the last two years.
John Caudwell recently registered JDC Investments (his middle name is David) at Companies House this year, although this is thought to be a holding company for his private investments and is not related to the fund.
