Just-Eat tucks into $48m funding

Just-Eat, the takeaway ordering service, has raised $48m in a round led by Greylock Partners and Redpoint Ventures, with support from existing investor Index Ventures.

The London-based company has developed an instant web and mobile ordering service that is connected to all the kitchens in a network that spans 15,000 restaurants in ten countries.

The number of partnering restaurants has grown by 80 per cent in the last year, while orders have more than doubled.

The company was originally based in Denmark and secured a £10.5m (€12.2m) series A round led by Index Ventures in 2009.
