Having heard just prior to departure on Friday that potential sales exec had accepted our job offer, I’m starting this week in the knowledge that recruiting is finally over and we are looking at having a full team by end of the month for a change.

Hard to believe it has been such a battle but far better to wait for the right people. Will-be line manager of sales has departed for his idea of a fun holiday – taking lots of little cadets scrambling over the bonnie hills of Scotland – so have asked right hand to do a final “show ‘em ‘ow it’s done” week in sales. Then it will be two weeks where I shall be able to call on his consultancy type services in the handover and he will be off on his travels. With recruiting clear and sales in experienced hands, write Herculean list of all the planning and much overdue designing I ought to do and plan to work most of this week at home in my nice, quiet and nearly decorated office where no-one can get at me.
