Mother and son

1 Mins

Back from a rare day off birthday shopping with ex head of sales, aka my son. We were tracking down necessities for his travelling ventures, which commence in January. He’ll be off to Oz, Indo China and points west – or is it east? – for an indefinite period of time.

Knackering and expensive day but really good to spend some time with him away from any business connection. For so many years, I was fighting for the business to work as a means to an end. Had to provide for children when they were small. Also wanted to build a business to pass on through generations. Since my son left, my whole perception of the business has changed. It’s only worth spending my life doing this if it brings me value in terms of both finance and quality of life. Such a revolutionary thought – really changes one’s perspective of work, staff and life in general.
