Must-attend events in May

We’re pleased to be involved in two major events for entrepreneurs this month of May – and we want to see you there!

Here’s the low-down:

Business Startup Show – May 19-20

Business Startup Show

First off, the Business Startup Show. This has been a regular fixture on new and aspiring entrepreneurs’ calendars for more than a decade, and is the must-attend event for learning to start and run a successful business.

Held at London’s ExCel on Thursday and Friday May 19-20, the event will be a great mix of exhibitors’ stands and guest speakers.

Some of the headline speakers include Doug Richard (ex-Dragon and founder of the School4Startups), Mark Prisk (enterprise minister) and Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones (the Black Farmer).

“Our first show consisted of a humble collection of exhibitors’ stands and a short but sweet list of guest speakers,” says event director John Pearce. “Now we have more than 230 exhibitors, 150 seminars and a whole host of live and interactive features.”

So if you’re a budding entrepreneur, or are thinking of starting up a business, this is the event for you. And if you do come, be sure to swing by stand 754, where you’ll find the Real Business team.

Entrepreneurs’ Summit – May 25

Entrepreneurs' Summit

Next on the calendar later this month is the Investec Entrepreneurs’ Summit, held in London on May 25.

This is Real Business’s yearly flagship event, aimed at entrepreneurs in established growth businesses. Now in its seventh year, we’ve tailored the Entrepreneurs’ Summit to your needs and demands.

This year’s theme is “Give your Business an Unfair Advantage”, and boy, are you in for a treat.

We’ve lined up a stellar group of speakers throughout the day: Vince Cable (business secretary), Dan Cobley (Google), Charles Dunstone (Carphone Warehouse), Errol Damelin (Wonga.com), Martin Raymond (Future Laboratory), Dame Mary Perkins (Specsavers), Richard Harpin (Homeserve), Simon Calver (LoveFilm), Luke Johnson (Risk Capital Partners), Julie Meyer (Ariadne Capital) are just a few confirmed speakers.

So if you’re looking to grow your business from existing and new customers, energise your marketing, or gain high-level insight from the top of government, this is your opportunity.

Join us at the Entrepreneurs’ Summit on May 25 to give your business an unfair advantage.
