New week, new recruits

1 Mins

Perm is a PA/part-trained accountant who is going to take strain off lovely accounts guy and also act as mine and Second-in-Charge’s PA. Will be a complete novelty to have someone professionally office-trained. Hope will bring perfect balance to enthusiasm and huge knowledge of our homegrown staff.  Sales temp is someone with some marketing qualifications behind them. Could be a huge asset but will have to see how he cracks the sales work, hence the "temp" status. The other reservation I have is that his father has his own business – seems an unfair judgement but, increasingly, I find there’s a combination of arrogance and complacency in the offspring of entrepreneurs that just takes the edge off otherwise good employees. Not always the case but it does worry me. We shall see.   Am recognising that there has been an abrupt change in my recruiting choices of late, what with these two and our new graduate cabinet-maker. Interesting experiments in all cases.
