Name: Nick Wall
Age: 32
Company: Premium cocktail brand Tails cocktails
Turnover: Our predicted turnover for next year (2012) is £1.5m.
First job: On my uncle’s farm at 15 years old, building small bridges across fields with pavement slab-stones.
Dream job: I wouldn’t mind Richard Branson’s job.
Car: Audi A4 Estate Quattro 3 litre.
Economy, business or first-class: Economy, but would be very happy to go business one day.
Most extravagant purchase: My kite surfing kit.
Most played song on your iPod: “Intro” by The xx.
Best business book: Millionaire Upgrade by Richard Parkes Cordock.
Worst business moment: We had an issue with the sleeves on our first production run. I spent ten hours in a factory hand picking “good ones” and discarding “bad ones”. As only a fifth of the run were good and we needed a minimum of 1,000 units, it was tiring and horribly frustrating.
Proudest business moment: My first Tails cocktails order with Selfridges, which had just won Best Department Store in the World.
Business mentor: My father. Although we are completely different personalities, he is a great influence on me.
Next big thing: Tails Minis. Watch this space!
